WFUNA Participates in the 2024 Geneva Trialogue – Open Innovation for Education at ITU WSIS Forum

WFUNA took part in the 6th Geneva Trialogue – Open Innovation for Education, held as part of the World Information Society Forum (WSIS).

On May 31, 2024, WFUNA took part in the 6th Geneva Trialogue – Open Innovation for Education, held as part of the World Information Society Forum (WSIS) and alongside the AI for Good Summit, organized by the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).

Co-organized by the University of Geneva and UNITAR Division for Prosperity, the event focused on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and education to advance the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). WFUNA’s Education, Youth, and Training officers participated in roundtable discussions, collaborating with representatives from international organizations, academia, and the private sector. Discussions centered on topics such as “Healing the Post-MUN Syndrome at Scale with AI” and “Online Learning and Connecting Innovation Hubs in International Organizations with Youth-led Innovation.”

Throughout the event, WFUNA, alongside other key stakeholders, explored challenges and opportunities in AI and education, contributing to the development of prototype solutions. Leveraging its expertise in Model UN (MUN) and educational programs, WFUNA played a critical role during the Discovery and Design phases, working in partnership with esteemed organizations such as the Geneva Graduate Institute, the Swiss Learning Exchange, and the Canton of Geneva.

This engagement provided WFUNA with an excellent platform to advance its mission of empowering youth, exploring AI’s integration into MUN activities, and addressing key challenges faced by MUN participants. By fostering innovation in education that aligns with the UN SDGs, WFUNA continues to drive forward meaningful educational initiatives.
