WFUNA’s President, Secretary-General and staff attended the 66th UN DPI NGO Conference in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea from May 30-June 1. The conference’s theme was “Education for Global Citizenship: Achieving the SDGs Together” and drew 2500 participants from around the world.
WFUNA hosted a workshop on the topic of “Cross-Sector Partnerships for Global Citizenship Education” on the second day of the conference in the Hwabeck International Convention Center. Welcome remarks were given by Ambassador Park Soo-gil, President of WFUNA. Bonian Golmohammadi, Secretary-General of WFUNA, moderated the following panel of experts:

- In Hyuk Choi, CEO, Happybean Foundation
- Utak Chung, Director, APCEIU
- Mi Jung Im, President, Music for One Foundation
- Young Eui Kwon, Director-General, KOICA ODA Education Center
Partner Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU) hosted a workshop on “Bridging Formal and Non-Formal Education through Global Citizenship Education”, moderated by Bonian Golmohammadi, Secretary-General of WFUNA, with a panel of experts including AuhYoon-Il, Professor of Computer Information and Communications Engineering at Kyunghee Cyber University, Alexander Leichtis, Chief of the Section of Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship for UNESCO, and Chung Utakis, current Director of APCEIU.
