WFUNA and Globeducate Partner to Bring Global Citizenship Education to 40,000+ Students Worldwide

New York, NY — The World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) is pleased to announce a new strategic partnership with Globeducate, one of the world’s leading international K–12 education groups, to expand access to global citizenship education, United Nations-focused learning, and youth leadership opportunities for students and educators across Globeducate’s international school network.

Beginning in September 2026, the partnership will connect Globeducate’s network of 65+ bilingual and international schools across 11 countries with WFUNA’s global citizenship education programmes, youth engagement initiatives, and Model United Nations opportunities. Through this collaboration, students and teachers will have new opportunities to deepen their understanding of the United Nations, the Sustainable Development Goals, and the role young people can play in shaping more peaceful, just, and sustainable communities.

For WFUNA, the partnership represents an opportunity to expand its mission to connect people to the work and values of the United Nations by engaging a broader network of young learners and educators worldwide.

“We are delighted to partner with Globeducate to expand WFUNA’s programming to its global network of schools and to reach even more students and educators around the world,” said Aziel-Philippos Goulandris, WFUNA Secretary-General. “This partnership offers an exciting opportunity to educate the next generation of leaders, strengthen their understanding of the United Nations and the Sustainable Development Goals, and inspire them to take action in their own communities. By connecting students more closely to the work and values of the UN, we hope to empower young people to see themselves as active global citizens with a meaningful role to play in shaping a more peaceful, just, and sustainable world.”

As part of the partnership, WFUNA and Globeducate will collaborate on global citizenship training programmes for students and teachers, including teacher training and professional development modules aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and other global themes. Students will also engage with WFUNA’s Act4Impact programme, which supports young people in learning about the SDGs, project management, and global citizenship while developing action-oriented projects to implement in their local communities.

The partnership will also create opportunities for Globeducate students to participate in WFUNA’s Global Model UN conferences worldwide. Chief Education Officer for Globeducate, Daniel Jones, said: “This partnership takes our students and teachers to the heart of the United Nations and its agencies. Through teacher training and professional development on Global Citizenship, including modules aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals or other themes proposed by WFUNA, we are not simply creating opportunities for students but also a programme across Globeducate schools that will have a lasting impact. The WFUNA Act4Impact programme will teach students about the SDGs, project management, and global citizenship, during which students develop their own projects to implement in their local communities.”

The partnership reflects WFUNA and Globeducate’s shared commitment to preparing young people to understand global challenges, engage across cultures, and take informed action in support of a more peaceful, just, and sustainable world.
