WFUNA's Mission

The World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) is the largest global network of people supporting and engaging with the United Nations. As a global nonprofit organization established in 1946, we represent and coordinate a membership of some 100 national United Nations Associations and their thousands of constituents.

Guided by our vision of a United Nations that is a powerful force in meeting common global challenges and opportunites, WFUNA works to strengthen and improve the UN. We achieve this through the engagement of people who share a global mindset and support international cooperation – global citizens.

WFUNA and Mission Possible

WFUNA believes that youth, as civil society activists, have the power to be significant agents of positive change. Mission Possible applies the goals, principles and experiences of WFUNA to empower young people to become global citizens who create change at the local and global level.

As a global citizenship education program, Mission Possible is designed to:

  • Deliver student-centered, experiential learning and skill-building in a collaborative, inclusive environment
  • Impart a global mindset with a focus on contributing to the UN's SDGs through local, youth-led action
