Closing Ceremony: Mission Possible India, 2018-2019

WFUNA Celebrates its Fourth Mission Possible Closing Ceremony

New York, NY – On March 29, the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) organizes another Mission Possible: India Closing Ceremony to celebrate and congratulate students that have successfully completed its flagship Global Citizenship Education program, Mission Possible.

The Closing Ceremony will be hosted at Vidyashilp Academy in Bangalore, India with 77 students from Vidyashilp Academy and Meridian School due to attend, along with school personnel, stakeholders, and family members. Students will share stories, insights, and lessons learned from the projects they led in their local communities, specifically highlighting how they have contributed towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

At the Closing Ceremony, students will have an opportunity to gather with other Agents of Change from India on solving global issues through youth-led local advocacy and project management. Furthermore, the Mission Possible students will learn from one another on key methodologies for advancing SDGs. Fifteen student-led projects, addressing ten out of 17 SDGS, will be presented. Some of the student projects include: installing solar panels for clean energy (SDG 7), building a green wall for tackling pollution (SDG 11), and providing sanitary products for promoting well-being and hygiene at schools (SDG 3). WFUNA looks forward to the Closing Ceremony in India to learn how Mission Possible students have used their newly acquired project management skills and their 21st Century outlook for addressing pressing issues in their local communities.

About Mission Possible:

Mission Possible is WFUNA’s flagship global citizenship education program. Over the course of a semester, high school students acquire global competencies and 21st century skills, learn about the United Nations and the SDGs, and apply their learning through student-led projects on topics that are important to them and their communities.

Mission Possible was launched in India by the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) in 2015 with the support of the Project Management Institute Educational Foundation (PMIEF). Learn about Mission Possible here.
