NEW YORK – The 206th Meeting of the Executive Committee of WFUNA was held in New York from 10-11 May, with 16 members present. The two day meeting discussed policy, membership, and programmatic topics, with a special briefing from Mr. Peter Launsky-Tieffenthal, Under Secretary-General of Communications and Public Information (UNDPI) and Mr. Maher Nasser, Director of Outreach. The meeting was hosted by UNA-USA and held in its New York offices at the UN Foundation. A dinner celebrating the meeting was hosted by UNA-Russia and its Secretary-General Alexey N. Borisov.
The Executive Committee meeting was preceded by a meeting with UN Secretary-General Mr. Ban Ki-moon and WFUNA Leadership, including Amb. Park Soo Gil, President of WFUNA; Secretary-General Mr. Bonian Golmohammadi; Ms. Kate White, Chair of the Executive Committee and Executive Director of UNA-Canada; and Amb. Cho Chang-Beom, a Vice-President of WFUNA.
