Global nonprofit organization representing and coordinating a membership of over 100 national United Nations Associations.

On July 5th 2022, the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) convened virtually the fourty-third instalment in a series of monthly dialogues between the President of the UN Security Council and Civil Society Organizations.

The dialogue featured H.E. Mr. Ronaldo Costa Filho, Permanent Representative of Brazil to the UN. WFUNA’s Director of Geneva Office, Mr. Aziel Goulandris, moderated the briefing, which was virtually attended by approximately 70 civil society organizations that RSVPed from different parts of the world.

The event was broadcasted live on UN Web TV and promoted on social media with the hashtag #MeetUNSCPres to allow for a participation from a global audience and wider stakeholder engagement.

Ambassador Costa Filho highlighted priorities in the programme of work for July, mainly achieving a balance between open and closed meetings, fostering cooperation with other main bodies of the United Nations, and incorporating gender and the gender perspective as a cross-cutting issue.

The floor was then opened for questions from representatives of civil society organizations, covering a wide range of questions relating to Ukraine, Yemen, Libya, Chad and the DRC, as well as topics including Children in Armed Conflict, Conflict Prevention, and Transparency and Accountability at the UNSC.
