NEW YORK – On May 14, 2018, WFUNA convened a debate for the candidates from the Asia-Pacific Group competing for a spot on the United Nations Security Council for the 2019-20 term.

In Conference Room 1 at UN Headquarters, over 100 representatives of UN Member States, civil society organizations, and UN Agencies gathered to hear from the candidates hoping to be elected on the UN Security Council in the upcoming June election. H.E. Dr. Ali Naseer Mohamed, Permanent Representative of the Maldives and H.E. Dian Triansyah Djani, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Indonesia introduced their platforms and answered questions.
