WFUNA Lithograph Program Re-Launches on International Day of Living Together in Peace

WEDNESDAY, MAY 16, 2018

NEW YORK, NY - On the occasion of International Day of Living Together in Peace, WFUNA has re-launched its Lithograph program with a piece by Frank Rosenzweig of Germany.

Mr. Rosenzweig was commissioned by Joe Haddad, Volunteer Coordinator and Special Adviser to WFUNA, who is overseeing the re-launch. The German artist, painter and visionary puts a central focus on human diversity and the belief that a peaceful coexistence of all nations is possible in his work. Against this background, Mr. Rosenzweig has been creating a diverse series of art – for nearly 30 years – in which he addresses both the multiple facets of individual people and the transience of life.

The lithograph, a part of Frank Rosenzweig's global art project “Many Children – One World,” is dedicated to the dialogue among different cultures. One topic of the project is a world peace flag created by the artist and named "United Continents of Planet Earth.“ Rosenzweig’s message: "Peace is possible. Children in particular have the wonderful gift of meeting each other unbiased and getting to know one another without prejudice."

For several decades during the 20th century, WFUNA conducted a fundraising program based on the sale of first day covers of UN stamps and lithographs produced by artists and celebrities, such as Picasso, Lou Zheng Jang, Miro, Salvador Dali, Ruben Leyva, Al Hirschfeld and Andy Warhol to promote the ideals of the UN. With this lithograph, “Many Children – One World,” the program is renewed.

This limited edition lithograph and other merchandise is available at the WFUNA kiosk in the Visitor's Center of UN Headquarters in New York.
