Civil Society Dialogue with Slovenia, President of the UN Security Council for December, 2025.

On December 4, 2025, WFUNA organized the 67th instalment in a series of monthly dialogues between the President of the UN Security Council and Civil Society organizations. The Dialogue was held in-person at United Nations Headquarters, broadcasted live on UN Web TV and promoted on social media with the hashtag #MeetUNSCPres to allow for a participation from a global audience and wider stakeholder engagement.

The dialogue featured H.E. Ms. Ondina Blokar Drubič, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Permanent Mission of Slovenia to the UN, and was moderated by Mr. Bill Yotive, of WFUNA.

H.E. Ms. Ondina Blokar Drubič opened the session by outlining the Security Council’s programme of work for December, highlighting the key meetings and thematic priorities shaping the month ahead.

The floor was then opened for questions from civil society representatives on a range of urgent situation-specific issues, including the crises in Haiti, Gaza, Sudan, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Deputy Permanent Representative Blokar Drubič addressed concerns regarding civilian protection, conflict-related sexual violence, accountability for atrocities, and the need for security responses that avoid discrimination against marginalized communities. She also reflected on expectations for Slovenia’s presidency following the adoption of the 2025 Peacebuilding Architecture Review resolutions.

In her remarks, she underscored the essential role of youth and civil society in peacebuilding and reaffirmed Slovenia’s commitment to an inclusive and transparent Security Council presidency.
