The dialogue featured H.E. Dian Triansyah Djani, Permanent Representative of Indonesia to the UN, and President of the Security Council for the month of May. Ambassador Djani shared the Council’s programme of work for the month and highlighted the two Open debates they are organizing: an Open Debate on Improving the Safety and Performance of UN Peacekeepers as well as an Open Debate on the Protection of Civilians in Armed Conflict. The floor was then opened for questions from representatives of civil society organizations on country specific questions relating to Myanmar and the Rohingya Crisis, Venezuela, Sudan, Syria, as well as on topics such as the Protection of Civilians, Climate Change, Youth, Peace and Security and on Iran and the Non-Proliferation Treaty.
