Ramaz

Ramaz Aptsiauri is a cofounder of UNA Georgia. He holds the Master’s Degree in International Relations from the Tbilisi State University, Georgia.

Mr. Aptsiauri served on various executive positions in UNA Georgia since 1995. Currently he is a board member of UNA Georgia and leads its long term country wide project that promotes tolerance and supports disadvantaged youth. Mr. Aptsiauri is the author of several publications, including the first Georgian edition of the guidebook on UN for students.

Mr. Aptsiauri has 20 years of leadership experience in strengthening civil society, strong ties among local and international NGOs, organizations, political and academic communities, government institutions of all levels, key research and think tank resources, media agencies and other key contacts. He plays a key role in developing the country report on CSO Sustainability Index. As a guest lecturer at Ilia State University in Georgia, he delivers a course on civil society.

Mr. Aptsiauri was awarded World Tolerance Award by the Friends of United Nations, NYC in 2003. He served on the position of the WFUNA Treasurer in 2003-2009. He is an elected member of the WFUNA Executive Committee and Chair of its Finance Committee since 2009.
