The Global Foundation for Democracy and Development (GFDD) hosted Dominican Get-Togethers in the Big Apple on Thursday, April 19th, 2012. Our Secretary-General, Bonian Golmohammadi, was asked on behalf of the GFDD to participate in a panel discussion on youth and the Millennium Development Goals. Panel discussion participants included Marcos Diaz, famed professional swimmer and humanitarian, and Natasha Despotovic, Executive Director of GFDD.
The presentation by Marcos Diaz highlighted the importance of all to raise awareness on the need to address and reach the Millennium Development Goals by 2015. The panel discussion followed and provided a forum for audience members to gain perspective on what youth can do to help advance progress towards meeting this important deadline. Our Secretary-General Bonian Golmohammadi provided examples on how engaged youth were able to mobilize efforts in raising awareness on this important topic. WFUNA greatly enjoyed the event and is looking forward to the next Dominican Get-Togethers event.
