WFUNA, represented by its Youth Program Officer, Pablo Angulo Troconis and the UN Programme on Youth, represented the by UN Youth Delegate Coordinator, Marissa Stozorum hosted a Skills Exchange Labs during the 61stCommission of the Status of Women Youth Forum on 13 March, 2017 titled “Learn How to Establish a UN Youth Delegate Programme”.
Marissa gave an overview of how the UN Youth Delegate Programme functions at the national and international level and Pablo shared tips and tools on how to draft a proposal in order to convince national governments to send youth delegates with national delegations to different UN intergovernmental meetings and fora.
Regularly, UN Youth Delegates attend the 3rd Committee of the General Assembly and the Commission on Social Development. Increasingly, over the last couple of years, member states have been sending UN Youth Delegates to other UN spaces such as the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development and the ECOSOC Youth Forum. The Commission of the Status of Women; and its 61stsession, Czech Republic, Germany and Switzerland sent Youth Delegates.
