A key component of Global UN Spotlight training program is the students’ individual SDG initiative concentrating on the most relevant SDGs highlighted during the training.
This initiative has been designed to take many forms, including a case study, a policy proposal, a research paper or a visual report, among others. In order to successfully complete this task, students are required to investigate an existing problem, examine viable alternatives, and propose the most effective solution using supporting evidence, including background information and a thorough analysis of the problem, as well as effective coping strategies and future recommendations. As a result, students learn how analyze and investigate some of the most pressing issues of our time, from eradicating hunger to achieve gender equality. The SDGs initiative offers the right tools to help participants acquire crucial and fundamental soft skills needed to succeed in an increasingly interconnected world.
