Youth Advisory Council

Angelica Ojinnaka is a youth affairs leader, researcher, and speaker. In 2022, Angelica served as the Australian Youth Representative to the United Nations and she has been involved with both UNA-Australia’s NSW Division and official youth partner UN Youth Australia since 2018. She is a Founding Member of the African Australian Youth Suicide Prevention Group, Founding Director of Where They Are, and a Youth Advocate with the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute’s Centre of Research Excellence in Driving Global Investment in Adolescent Health.

Tatiana Scantlebury is a passionate human rights advocate who strongly believes in advancing and protecting fundamental human rights. She focuses on amplifying the voices of marginalized communities and has worked in the non-governmental sector on human rights violations, policy, women’s rights, immigration, criminal justice reform, and ending hunger both in the United States and internationally. Tatiana also holds several leadership positions such as the UNA-USA Bronx Chapter President, a UNA-USA National Council Member (Mid-Atlantic Region), Co-Chair of the WFUNA committee, and Vice Chair of the Leadership Development Committee. She dedicates her time to supporting refugee and immigrant children in the New York City area who are at risk of deportation.

Samuel Fekade is currently the National Coordinator at United Nations International Trade Centre, as well as the founder and Director of United Nations Association of Ethiopia (UNA-ET). Samuel is passionate about systemic change and sustainable development, and hopes to contribute to these areas in his work.

Tawakalt Adeola Ahmed is a dedicated member of UNA-Nigeria, passionately engaged in advancing the organization’s initiatives and programs. She actively champions youth and teen self-discovery and development, making significant contributions to enhancing the social sector. Her involvement showcases a strong commitment to fostering positive change and growth within the community.

Signe Andersson is an active member of UNA-Sweden and several other civil society organizations advocating for positive change, human rights, and sustainable development, and has a special focus on women, peace, and security. She is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Peace and Development at Uppsala University in Sweden, and she studied Model United Nations during an exchange semester in Australia. Signe is dedicated to increasing youth participation in global affairs and strives to contribute to a more inclusive and respectful world.

A graduate student at New York University, Giras Bowo has been very active and passionate in advocating youth issues since his teenage years. He was an elementary school teacher while simultaneously serving as the Regent Special Staff for Foreign Affairs for the Government of Wondama Bay Regency in West Papua. He is the founder of UNA-Indonesia and currently serves as its President.

Georgina Kominovska is known as a dedicated advocate for diplomacy and the protection of human rights, whose passion drives her to bridge divides and foster understanding. With various experiences in International schools, the NGO sector and her national UNA in North Macedonia, she is the two-time recipient of the US Presidential Award for Excellence and Outstanding Achievement. Her personal mission is to foster connections that transcend borders and bring people closer together, and she hopes to do this through the UNA network.

Rakeeb Mohamed Zawahir is a socially passionate individual with a flair for creativity, thriving on transforming ideas that could make the UN SDG’s into engaging action. By leading certain clubs and sports at school level he has learned the art of leadership and teamwork for exceeding expectations. Achieving the president scout award gave him the initial impetus for consistency, patience, and resilience for achieving greater heights.
