One World Observatory

Directions
From The InterContinental Times Square Hotel, walk to the Subway station 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal and hop on Subway E directed towards World Trade Center and get off at One World Observatory.

Times Square
First and foremost, when visiting New York City, you might find it is impossible to avoid the bustling thoroughfare of Times Square. One of the world’s busiest pedestrian areas which is not just the convergence of Broadway, Seventh Avenue, and 42nd Street, but also the cultural confluence of New York City. Although most travelers recommend visiting after dark to enjoy marquee displays, passing by during the day, Times Square offers a wide range of things to do, see and eat. Host of the famous New Year’s eve ball drop and hidden artwork, some interesting facts lie beneath all the hubbub of Times Square. Definitely don’t miss out on one of the best attractions of New York City!

Directions
The InterContinental Hotel is only a 4 minute walk to Times Square. Head southeast on West 44th Street toward 8th Avenue and you will be there, you won’t miss it!

United Nations
The United Nations definitely falls in the must-sees of New York! If you didn’t already know, the United Nations is an International Organization founded in 1945 to maintain international peace and security. On December 10th 1945, the Congress of the United States unanimously resolved to invite the United Nations to establish its permanent home in New York, now being the main headquarters. If you are in New York City, the United Nations tour is a must, having skilled, passionate and engaging tour guides and walking through the 193 member state flags with a view on the East River makes the experience impossible to forget!

Directions
From The InterContinental Times Square Hotel, you can choose to take a 30 minute walk through West 44th Street and East 45th Street or take the Subway.
If you choose to take the Subway, you will have to walk 6 minutes to the subway station called Times Square – 42 St hopping onto the 7 headed to Flushing Main Street and getting off at Grand Central – 42 Street, from there walk 10 minutes down East 42nd Street until you get to 1st Avenue and you will see the monumental building of the United Nations to your left.

Central Park
Central Park is the largest and most important public park situated in Manhattan, New York City. You might have seen it in many popular movies such as Home Alone 2, Madagascar or Enchanted as well as many more of the iconic New York City films! Not surprising, Central Park’s surface area is 843 acres and includes sweeping lawns, picturesque woodlands, meandering streams and broad lakes. Not only is it a magisterial composition but it is also full of attractions. You can enjoy music and performance centers, educational facilities, classical architecture and the hbvBethesda Terrace, a large plaza consisting of two levels as well as an arcade and a fountain. If you do visit Central Park, try to look for each of the famous statues and monuments hidden in the park, will you be able to find them all?

Directions
To get to Central park from the InterContinental Hotel you can either take a 20 minute walk all the way up 8th Avenue or take the Subway A. If you choose to take the subway, head to the station called 42 St-Port Authority Subway Terminal by walking 3 minutes through 300 W 44th St and hopping on to Subway A taking the direction Inwood-207 St and getting off at 59 St-Columbus Circle which will leave you 2 minutes away from Central Park.

Brooklyn Bridge
The Brooklyn Bridge is hard to miss, it is a suspension bridge spanning the East River from Brooklyn to Manhattan. This magnificent structure opened on May 24th 1883, it was the first fixed crossing of the East River, making it one of the oldest suspension bridges of the United States. Amongst the countless fascinating New York City experiences to enjoy on foot, the exhilarating journey of walking the iconic Brooklyn Bridge at sunset while blasting Empire State of Mind by Jay Z and Alicia Keys especially stands out! Did you know that there was once a toll charge to cross it? In its early years, the famous structure operated as a toll bridge charging travelers and farm animals a fee to cross it. Your turn to live that Iconic walk across the Brooklyn Bridge!

Directions
To get to the Brooklyn Bridge from the InterContinental hotel it is quite a long walk. You can get there by taking the Subway. First walk 6 minutes to the Subway Station called Times Square – 42nd Street and hop on the Subway 7 directed to Flushing Main Street and get off at Grand Central – 42 Street. Then, change subways and take the 4 directed to Crown Hts-Utica Avenue and hop off at Brooklyn Bridge City Hall.

High Line
If you are visiting Manhattan’s West Side you have got to walk along the High Line. The High Line is considered a public park which was built on a historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan’s West Side. It was saved from demolition by residents and New York City in 2009 and became one of the most famous public spaces where you can enjoy nature, art and spectacular design. Not only that, but the mission and vision behind this project lies in the creation of vibrant and equitable public spaces. Nothing beats a tranquil crisp walk alone or with friends along this unpredictable High Line track.

Directions
From The InterContinental Times Square Hotel, walk to the Subway station Times Square – 42 Street and take Subway 7 headed to 34 Street Hudson Yards and get off there (34 Street Hudson Yards). Then walk 10 minutes to get to the High Line through West 34th Street and 10th Avenue.

National Lighthouse Museum

From The InterContinental Times Square Hotel, walk to the Subway station 42 St-Port Authority Bus Terminal and hop on Subway A directed towards Far Rockaway-Mott Av and get off at Chambers St. Hop on the ferry SG at Battery Park City directed towards St.George and get off at St.George Ferry Terminal.
