The WFUNA International Model United Nations Singapore 2025 Conference will be held from July 14-17, 2025 at Resorts World Sentosa in Singapore.

The Secretariat is responsible for organizing all logistical, substantive, and communicative aspects of the conference, with the leadership of the Senior Secretariat team.

Requirements

Eligibility

  • Must be currently enrolled in university OR have recently graduated university and be between the ages of 18-30.
  • Prior experience staffing WIMUN is highly desired.
  • Prior experience with other Model UN conferences or workshops using WIMUN Approach rules of procedure is preferred.
  • Prior experience staffing Model UN conferences is highly desired.
  • Must be committed to producing all pre-conference and on-site deliverables in a timely manner.
  • Ideal candidates should display professionalism in their work, be very responsive to communications throughout the entire conference preparation process, be open to constructive feedback, and have strong communication skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Must arrive in Singapore on July 12, 2025, and depart on July 18, 2025. Must be available to work from July 12-18 for training sessions and the conference itself.

Secretary-General

As the highest position within the WIMUN Secretariat, the Secretary-General assumes a multifaceted role that encompasses both organizational oversight and substantive leadership. To ensure the conference’s success and quality, the Secretary-General collaborates closely with WFUNA to make key decisions. This individual serves as the linchpin between the Secretariat and WFUNA, ensuring alignment of objectives and effective communication channels. Specific responsibilities include:

Strategic Collaboration and Communication:

  • Attend weekly WFUNA Pulses to coordinate and report on Secretariat deliverables as outlined in the monthly calendar of “rocks” and address any staff issues that may come up in the Senior Secretariat or full Secretariat staff.
  • Facilitate weekly Senior Secretariat pulses to track progress and address any issues.
  • Conduct monthly full Secretariat meetings to maintain organizational coherence.

Team Management:

  • Oversee the Secretariat and foster a positive staff culture, ensuring motivation and satisfaction both pre-conference and on-site.
  • Set objectives (“rocks”) with the Senior Secretariat and ensure timely completion.

Operational Leadership:

  • Lead on-site staff meetings and participate in on-site Faculty Advisor meetings.
  • Manage tasks that may fall behind schedule, ensuring completion within deadlines.
  • Assist, as needed, in the implementation of the training schedule for staff and delegates.

Conference Representation:

  • Serve as Master of Ceremonies during the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.
  • Assist in conference promotion and delegate recruitment through their personal network to enhance participation.
  • Assist in the supervision of simulations during the conference.

Department for General Assembly Affairs and Conference Management

Under-Secretary-General for General Assembly and Conference Management

The Under-Secretary-General for General Assembly and Conference Management plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of conference logistics and the effective coordination of conference-related activities. Reporting to the Secretary-General, the Under-Secretary-General oversees the work of the DGACM team, comprising a team of Conference Management Officers (CMOs). Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work with the Secretary-General to recruit and manage a team of CMOs.
  • Develop, update, and supervise the logistics plan for the conference, and ensure its effective implementation to support the smooth running of the conference on-site.
  • Coordinate with different Senior Secretariat members to prepare the content for the delegate and staff pre-arrival guides and design the final documents.
  • Prepare scripts, Organizations of Work, and Programs of Work in collaboration with the Policy Team.
  • Prepare all print materials, including conference badges, conference handbook, certificates, and awards.
  • Research and develop a list of options for the staff social event and staff tour and finalize the booking of the different events.
  • Manage the planning of all delegate social events and complete necessary bookings and reservations.
  • Manage all logistics for the WIMUN Global Experience, including sign-ups, floor plans, and coordination with relevant stakeholders.

Department of Global Communications

Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications

The Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications plays a pivotal role in managing the communication channels efforts of WIMUN. Reporting to the Secretary-General, this individual oversees the recruitment and management of a team of Public Information Officers (PIOs) and leads the strategic dissemination of conference-related content through various communication channels. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Recruit and manage a team of Public Information Officers (PIOs) to support the communication objectives of the conference.
  • Curate and publish pre-conference content for WIMUN’s social media channels (Facebook and Instagram) to promote the conference, disseminate information, and engage participants.
  • Develop and implement social media campaigns to build excitement and anticipation around the conference.
  • Assist other departments with graphic design tasks, as needed.
  • Assist WFUNA with email marketing efforts as needed, including drafting and designing email newsletters and promotional materials to reach new potential conference participants.
  • Oversee the completion of on-site deliverables, including conference photos, videos, and interaction with participants on social media platforms.

Policy

Under-Secretary-General for Policy

The Under-Secretary-General for Policy has ultimate responsibility for all substantive aspects of the conference, including the preparation of Study Guides, Annotated Bibliographies and the development of a database of public statements and official documents delivered during official UN meetings or published online on all agenda items. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Work with the Secretary-General to recruit a team of Chairs, Presidents, Coordinator and Facilitators for the different simulations of the conference.
  • Ensure cohesion across guidelines and editing of resource guides to maintain consistency and quality.
  • Edit Simulation Guides in collaboration with WFUNA.
  • Create a comprehensive training plan for the conference and ensure training sessions are implemented smoothly.
  • Manage the election of Vice-Chairs in collaboration with WFUNA, including drafting an election plan, creating candidacy and voting forms, and communicating with elected Vice-Chairs.
  • Ensure Position Papers are reviewed on time and according to WIMUN standards to facilitate effective debate during simulations.
  • Supervise the implementation of the Organization of Work or Programme of Work of each simulation to ensure they follow proper procedures and progress within the allotted time.
