Meet the Secretariat
Global Model UN Singapore 2026

Secretary-General

Gooi Min Hsian

Gooi Min Hsian (Michelle), from Malaysia, will be serving as the Secretary-General of Global Model UN Singapore 2026, leading the vision and direction of a conference built on dialogue, imagination, and purpose. An artist and educator by training, she also holds a Master’s degree with Honours in International Management, with a background spanning education, psychology, and marketing. This multidisciplinary foundation shapes her people-centred, creative approach to youth leadership and international engagement.

Michelle’s journey through the Global Model and WFUNA ecosystem has been guided by a belief in the power of stories, both in how we understand the world and in how we learn to change it. She has previously served as Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications at WIMUN New York 2026, 2025, WIMUN Singapore 2025, Director of Communications for Global Model WHO 2025, and continues her work as the Communications and Marketing Consultant for WFUNA, helping shape how global conversations are told, seen, and remembered.

As Secretary-General, Michelle is committed to creating a conference experience that is not only rigorous and realistic, but also deeply human. She believes that before leaders shape policy, they learn to listen, to question, and to communicate with empathy and clarity. Through Global Model UN Singapore 2026, she hopes to offer every delegate more than a simulation: a space to grow, to find their voice, and to begin writing the stories that will define the leaders of tomorrow, long after the final gavel falls.

Under-Secretary-General for Global Communications

Matthew Roberson

Matthew Roberson, from the United States, recently graduated from Nazareth University with a Bachelor of Science in Toxicology and Public Health, where he developed a strong foundation of science, risk assessment, and global health. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Toxicology for Human Risk Assessment at Johns Hopkins University, further advancing his expertise in evaluating chemical exposures, environmental hazards, and their implications for human health on both local and global scales. His academic work reflects a commitment not only to scientific excellence, but also to the communication of complex ideas in ways that inform policy, decision-making, and public understanding. Alongside his scientific training, Matthew has cultivated an extensive background in visual storytelling and communications. He previously served as Lead Photographer for WIMUN 2026 New York, as well as Global Model WHO 2025 and Global Model Singapore 2025, where he was responsible for capturing opening and closing ceremonies hosting high-level UN experts, WIMUN Senior Secretariat, and Student speakers, the consensus approach, Vienna Formula, Line by Line Review, and the collaboration that is fostered within every simulation. His work emphasizes the power of imagery to shape narrative, preserve memory, and elevate voices within global spaces. In addition, he served as the Lead Student Photographer for Nazareth University’s Communications Department, where he led visual coverage across institutional events, campaigns, and digital publications, further refining his ability to merge technical skill with intentional storytelling. Matthew will serve as the Under-Secretary-General of the Department of Global Communications, where he brings together his dual expertise in science and media. In this role, he is focused on leading a team that not only documents conference proceedings, but actively constructs meaningful visual narratives that reflect the urgency, diversity, and complexity of global issues. At Global Model Singapore, Matthew leads the Department of Global Communications with a clear vision: to replicate the discipline, resilience, and adaptability required in international institutions, while pushing the boundaries of how global dialogue is captured and conveyed. Through a combination of leadership, creativity, and strategic communication, he aims to ensure that every moment documented contributes to a broader, lasting impact.
