On September 5, 2025, WFUNA organized the 65th installment in a series of monthly dialogues between the President of the UN Security Council and Civil Society organizations. The Dialogue was held in-person at United Nations Headquarters and broadcast live on UN Web TV for wider accessibility.

The dialogue featured H.E. Sangjin Kim, Permanent Representative of the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Korea to the UN, and was moderated by William Yotive. The event was broadcasted live on UN Web TV and promoted on social media with the hashtag #MeetUNSCPres to allow for a participation from a global audience and wider stakeholder engagement.

Ambassador Kim shared the Council’s programme of work for the month of September, highlighting the Republic of Korea’s priorities of efficiency, transparency and inclusiveness during their presidency. He spoke about meetings scheduled for the month, including a signature event on artificial intelligence.

The floor was then opened for questions from representatives of civil society organizations, inquiring on region-specific issues including Haiti, Sudan, DPRK, and Myanmar. There were also questions on thematic issues including civil society and youth participation as well as protection of civilians. In his commentary, the Ambassador stressed the importance of partnering with civil society. Ambassador Kim closed the Dialogue by emphasizing that the mission of the Republic of Korea will remain open to engaging further with civil society.
