44th WFUNA Plenary Assembly & World Congress 2026

Reclaiming Multilateralism

From August 26–28, 2026, WFUNA convened its World Congress and 44th Plenary Assembly at the World Health Organization headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. Held under the theme “Reclaiming Multilateralism,” the gathering brought together United Nations Associations from around the world for dialogue, learning, networking, governance discussions, elections, and collective decision-making.

Through high-level discussions, participatory sessions, and exchanges of promising practices, participants explored how civil society could strengthen public support for the United Nations and advance more inclusive and effective multilateral cooperation. The gathering also marked WFUNA’s 80th anniversary and renewed the UNA network’s shared commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter and coordinated global action.
