The Global Model UN New York 2027 (formerly WIMUN) Conference will be held from February 11-15, 2027 at InterContinental New York Times Square and the Westin New York at Times Square in New York, United States of America.
The Secretariat is responsible for contributing to all logistical, substantive, and communicative aspects of the conference.
Applications for Secretariat positions are due by Friday, July 17, 2026 23:59 EST.
Eligibility
- Must be currently enrolled in university OR have recently graduated university and be between the ages of 18-30.
- Prior experience staffing Global Model UN Conferences (formerly WIMUN) is highly desired.
- Prior experience with other Model UN conferences or workshops using Consensus Approach rules of procedure is preferred.
- Prior experience staffing Model UN conferences is highly desired.
- Must be committed to producing all pre-conference and on-site deliverables in a timely manner.
- Ideal candidates should display professionalism in their work, be very responsive to communications throughout the entire conference preparation process, be open to constructive feedback, and have strong communication skills and problem-solving skills.
- Must arrive in New York on February 8, 2027, and depart on February 16, 2027.

Department for General Assembly Affairs and Conference Management
Conference Management Officer
Conference Management Officers work behind the scenes to ensure that all logistics flow smoothly during the conference. Previous conference staffing experience or experience in other logistical or customer service roles is preferred for this position. Specific responsibilities include:
- Understanding the logistics plan and serving as the “go-to” person for any questions or issues about logistics at either conference hotel, external conference venues, and delegate social venues.
- Assisting with on-site registrations, including sorting badges, preparing welcome packets, and ensuring a smooth check-in process.
- Selling merchandise at the conference and managing the merch table throughout the event.
- Ensuring general customer service and safety for all participants, including assisting with check-in, the customer service table, and with any medical emergencies
Department of Global Communications
Public Information Officer
Public Information Officers work behind the scenes to produce multimedia leading up to and during the conference. This year’s team will be designated with the following roles: Photographer, Videographer (Editing and Cinematography), and Video Editor. Technical experience with photography, videography, video editing, layout editing, social media marketing, or other media-related skills is required for this position. Staff will be expected to provide examples for past relative work. Specific roles and responsibilities include:
Photographer
- Taking professional-quality photos during the conference
- Watermarking all photos taken at the conference with the WIMUN logo
Videographer/Video Editor
- Developing video concepts for conference videos
- Preparing video content for social media posts
- Taking professional-quality videos during the conference
- Editing videos to produce a Closing Ceremonies video and any other needed media
Graphic Designer
- Preparing graphics for Social media posts
- Preparing graphics for any WFUNA marketing campaigns to recruit delegates
- Designing and lay outing the conference certificates, pre-arrival packets, and handbook
Policy
Chair
The Chair serves as the substantive and procedural expert in the room. Chairs will also write the Study Guide for their respective simulation’s topic and assist with delegate training prior to the conference. Strong chairing experience, fluency in spoken and written English, and advanced research skills are required for this position. Past experience with the Consensus Approach is highly preferred. Specific responsibilities include:
- Drafting the Study Guide and Annotated Bibliography for their simulation’s topic following Consensus Approach research and formatting standards
- Training the elected or selected Vie-Chair on WIMUN rules of procedure, preparing chairing scripts, and providing procedural guidance during simulation sessions
- Assisting with the pre-conference training of delegates and other substantive needs and ensuring the overall quality of the simulation experience for participants
- Keeping track of the speakers list, draft resolutions, annotations of amendments during Formal Informal Meetings, and any recorded votes during simulation sessions
