Global Model WHO 2026

Max is a student in the Master’s of Public Administration honors track at Leiden University. His research lies at the intersection of international relations, digital technology, and policy. His involvement with MUN began in 2018, and has since participated in and organized several local and international-level conferences across the US, Europe and Asia.

Ana Paulina Acosta is a graphic designer based in Mexico, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, a minor in Animation, and a Master’s degree in Cultural Management. She currently works as a Graphic Designer at a marketing agency, where she develops visual communication strategies through branding, editorial design, photography, and digital content creation. Her passion for visual storytelling has led her to explore how design can make information more engaging, accessible, and impactful. Through both her professional work and creative projects, she has developed a strong interest in the intersection of design, education, and community engagement, particularly in using visual communication to foster inclusion and meaningful connections. She looks forward to contributing her creative perspective and communication expertise to initiatives that strengthen global communication and collaboration.

Karla is an International Relations graduate and Valedictorian of her graduating class. Having grown up between Mexico and the United States, she developed an early appreciation for different perspectives and the ways international dialogue can bring people together. With over a decade in Model United Nations, she has experienced conferences from nearly every angle, serving as a delegate, Chair, organizing committee member, and senior secretariat across Mexico and internationally. Beyond conferences, Karla is passionate about making international affairs accessible to students. She regularly leads workshops on Model UN and international relations in Mexico, and co-founded a sustainable tourism and education initiative that works with local and Indigenous communities to address challenges in her region. She has also served on the Policy Team for WIMUN New York 2026 and currently serves as Assistant-Secretary-General for Policy for Global Model UN New York 2027. She is excited to bring her experience to Global Model WHO 2026 and help create a space where delegates can engage with global health issues, challenge their perspectives, and discover their own voice.

Hamza Irfan is a medical graduate, public speaking coach, and clinical researcher from Pakistan. He has been an active part of the Model United Nations circuit in Pakistan for several years and has worked with students across various institutions, helping them develop their public speaking, confidence, and communication skills. Hamza’s journey between medicine and public speaking has always shared a common thread — people. Whether he is working with a patient, mentoring his juniors, or chairing a Model UN conference, he believes that the most meaningful work is ultimately about understanding people, communicating well, and making a difference. Beyond his professional responsibilities, Hamza enjoys swimming, cooking, video games, and board games, and is an active participant in community service initiatives. He believes that some of the best lessons in life come from experiences outside the classroom and the workplace. He looks forward to serving as a Chair at the conference and is excited to meet everyone, engage in some great debate, and hopefully make the experience a memorable one for all the delegates.

Jaclyn Lo is a fourth-year MD-MS graduate medical student, clinical researcher, and global health advocate whose work is grounded in a commitment to health equity, community engagement, and service. Her academic, research, and advocacy interests span ophthalmology, adolescent health, women’s health, and public health. Through her roles as a teaching assistant, mentor, and student leader, she is committed to creating collaborative learning environments that empower others to build confidence, think critically, and engage meaningfully with global challenges. Having previously served as a Communications Officer for WFUNA’s Global Model WHO 2024, she is honored to return as a Chair for Global Model WHO 2026. She looks forward to supporting delegates as they strengthen their diplomacy and negotiation skills, engage in meaningful dialogue and consensus-building, and grow as thoughtful and engaged global citizens.

Matilda is committed to making complex issues accessible to young people, and facilitating meaningful debate that represents youth voices on national and international stages. Since founding her high school’s first MUN club four years ago, she has been captivated by MUN’s international environment, bringing together motivated people across cultures, languages and passions to solve global issues. Her MUN journey has taken her from delegate to advocate, chair and organiser, along with running workshops for schools new to MUN. Having worked with young people in refugee shelters and schools, she ultimately believes that agency and meaningful change come from creating collaborative and inviting spaces. Next to her studies exploring health and technology at ETH Zurich, Matilda serves on UNICEF Germany’s Youth Council. With her Berlin-based UNICEF youth team, she has organised projects with UN experts including on gender apartheid. She is also part of the European Youth Parliament and Understanding Europe, where she has served as delegate, official and trainer bringing students closer to EU governance and debate. In her free time, Matilda enjoys playing the piano, tennis, and reading, and is always on the lookout for new languages to learn. She looks forward to serving as chair at this year’s Global Model WHO 2025, see thought-provoking debates, and work with all delegates to make this conference a memorable and inspiring experience.

Paula Recio Rey is a recent graduate of Nova Southeastern University, where she earned a dual Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Studies, with concentrations in International History & Politics and Security, Peace, and Conflict, along with minors in International Law, Economics, and Global Engagement. She completed a study abroad program at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), where she studied International Law and European Union Law. She was part of the Razor’s Edge Global Scholars Program, serving as an Executive Board member. Through this role, she promoted intercultural engagement and global citizenship. Her involvement with Model United Nations began in 2022, participating in regional and international conferences while developing expertise in diplomacy, negotiation, research, and public speaking. She served as President and Vice President of the Nova Southeastern University Model United Nations Academic Team and held leadership positions within NIRAMUN’s annual high school conference, serving as Secretary-General for two years and Under-Secretary-General for one year. Through these roles, she helped organize conferences that engaged more than 300 high school students. As a delegate at the WFUNA International Model United Nations Conference at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, she participated in the Sixth Legal Committee, received a Diplomacy Award, and contributed to her delegation earning Best Large Delegation. She worked at EnGen, a certified B Corporation that supports immigrants and refugees through workforce-aligned English education. She currently serves as a Partnership Assistant with WFUNA, supporting partnership development and outreach efforts for United Nations educational initiatives.

Clemens Williams is an undergraduate student at the University of Bristol studying Business and Management. He discovered MUN in 2022 and quickly fell in love with the combination of debate, diplomacy, and the social side of MUN. Since then, MUN has become a major part of his life, taking him to conferences across Europe, Asia, and Africa as both Chair and delegate. He has also been selected as a mymun Scholarship Delegate for 2025, 2026, and 2027, and has continued to pursue his passion for public speaking beyond the MUN circuit, including delivering a TEDx talk to an audience of over 1,000 people. Outside the MUN world and his academic studies, Clemens enjoys debating, socialising, baking, and exploring his interest in business. All in all, Clemens is eager to use his experience and expertise to bring the world of diplomacy closer to other young people, encouraging them to find their voice, challenge their perspectives, and therefore become more confident global citizens.

A polyglot at heart, Abril has always marveled at how people from all corners of the world cross paths and share experiences, in part thanks to languages and communication. This inspired her to move from her native Mexico City to Geneva, the cradle of multilateralism, to pursue her BA in Multilingual Communication at the University of Geneva. There, she majored in Translation and thrived meeting people from all walks of life. She is now preparing to apply to MA in Conferece Interpreting programs to serve as a bridge between languages and cultures. Her academic journey was complemented by participating in and leading MUN conferences across Europe, with her most gratifying roles being Secretary-General of GIMUN 2026 and, now, Under-Secretary-General for Translation at GIMUN 2027. Global Model WHO 2026 would be Abril’s first formal experience in graphic design/social media, and she feels fortunate to kickstart it with the experienced, inspiring people that form the team. Moreover, she cannot wait to translate the love she has for MUN conferences into new ideas for this wonderful event.

Bennett sees photography as more than a way of documenting what happens. For him, it’s about finding the moments in between: the reaction before the applause, the conversation that happens in the hallway, the split second when a room comes alive. His work is rooted in storytelling, not to tell what happened, but how it felt. Based in Vancouver, Bennett works across a range of events, creative projects, and live experiences. His approach is cinematic without loosing the spontaneity of the people and the moment. After joining Global Model UN New York in 2026, Bennett returns as a Public Information Officer in Global Model UN Singapore 2026, Global Model WHO 2026, Global Model UN New York 2027, and will serve as Director of Communications for Global Model FAO 2027. He is excited to tell the story of Global Model UN through the eyes of the people who make it what it is, capturing the friendships, conversations, celebrations and unexpected moments that delegates will remember for years to come.

Carolina Bessil found her way into communication before she ever thought of it as a career. Talking, creating, and connecting had simply always come naturally to her. Originally from Brazil, she moved to Portugal on her own at nineteen, initially to study Psychology, before switching paths into Communication Sciences at the University of Porto, where she specialized in Strategic Communication. She is now pursuing a Master’s in Marketing at Católica Porto Business School. Her professional experience spans agency and student-organization work alike. She previously worked as a Junior Consultant at a PR and communication agency, managing end-to-end digital communications for clients across diverse industries, and interned in journalism at Time Out Portugal. As Head of Communication at Erasmus Student Network Porto, she directs the Communications Department, having revamped its social media strategy to generate over 1.4 million organic views in a single month. She joins Global Model WHO 2026 as Communications Officer, ready to help shape how the conference’s story reaches the world.

Aurélien is a creative professional and videographer born in Belgium. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Communication and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Advertising, Commercial Communication, and Marketing. Alongside his studies, Aurélien works as an independent filmmaker. He regularly collaborates on various commercial campaigns, where he enjoys the process of combining technical video skills with strategic communication to help develop impactful visual identities. His journey with Global Model UN started at the WIMUN New York 2026 conference, where he served as a Public Information Officer. He then reprised his role at Global Model UN Singapore 2026, and will serve as Assistant-Secretary-General for Global Model UN New York 2027. Building on this first-hand experience behind the camera, Aurélien is grateful to join the Global Model WHO 2026 conference in Geneva as the Lead Videographer. He looks forward to using his creative background to support his team and highlight the visual storytelling of the event.

Veronica Landig, from the Philippines, is a designer and storyteller whose work has always revolved around being playfully human. With a soft spot for hard questions, she has worked in advertising across technology, education, and women’s reproductive health in the past 3 years. Her professional work reflects a commitment not only to simplify difficult subjects, but to the belief that even the most technical systems should always be built with heart. She celebrates design, movement, and art as ways to make sense of what it means to be human, and always hopes to hand understanding to others with tenderness. She served as a Public Information Officer for Global Model UN Singapore 2026. Joining Global Model for the second time as a Communication Officer, she is excited to collaborate with a dream team, and together, create experiences and memories that can outlast the conference itself.
