As a student, she worked at the Centre for Vaccine Preventable Diseases (CVPD) during the COVID-19 pandemic, contributing to public-facing events and communications that strengthened awareness and engagement on vaccine-preventable diseases.

On the international stage, Ida has represented Canada at the UN ECOSOC Youth Forum, the High-Level Political Forum (HLPF), and CSW69 as part of the Canadian Partnership for Women and Children’s Health (CanWaCH) delegation. She is the founder of SCIENSIS, a youth-led nonprofit amplifying the voices of women in STEM through storytelling, advocacy, and microgrants. She also serves as a Founding and Executive Board of Director for the Women’s Nonprofit Network (WNN), and was selected as one of only twelve global AstraZeneca Young Health Programme Scholars. Her documentary on Indigenous perspectives on climate and health in the Peruvian Amazon was showcased at COP29 with the UNFCCC’s Youth Climate Report.

Beyond research, Ida is a committed youth advocate and communicator. She is a ONE Global Activist, an advisor to Senator Marilou McPhedran through the Canadian Council of Young Feminists, and an advocate with Results Canada.
