Introduction

Welcome to the Global Model FAO, jointly organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) at the FAO Headquarters. Join us for four immersive days of engaging debate, hands-on collaboration, and meaningful dialogue with FAO experts as you tackle the most pressing food and agricultural challenges of our time.

Set against the timeless grandeur of Rome, Global Model FAO unfolds in a city where ancient history and contemporary diplomacy coexist. As the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, Rome stands at the center of global conversations on food security, sustainable agriculture, and rural development. The conference venue, located near the historic Circus Maximus and within easy reach of the city’s iconic landmarks, offers participants a setting that is both inspiring and deeply connected to the mission of the simulation.

As one of the world’s most storied capitals, Rome is home to key international institutions alongside centuries of cultural and architectural heritage. This unique blend makes it an ideal environment for thoughtful negotiation and impactful dialogue on the future of global food systems.

During their free time, attendees can explore the grandeur of the Colosseum, wander through the Roman Forum, or toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain. From the cobbled streets of Trastevere to the awe-inspiring dome of St. Peter’s Basilica, the city invites delegates to experience its layered history, vibrant culture, and renowned cuisine, all within the embrace of the Eternal City.

  • Tackle current food security issues in a realistic simulation
  • Interact with FAO experts and professionals in the field
  • Experience Romes’s food hub and cultural richness over four unforgettable days
