WIMUN is one of the most diverse conferences in the world, with past participants having come from over 100 different countries. In order to foster intercultural understanding and exchange, WIMUN Geneva offers a rich and diverse social and culture program that participants of the conference can opt to participate in. Get to know the Headquarters of the UN in Geneva better during the first day of the conference (October 30) and attend a guided tour of the Palais des Nations in the afternoon before the Opening Ceremony. During the tour, participants will visit the Human Rights Council, the Assembly Hall and many more sites and rooms where impactful negotiations took place. They will also learn interesting and insightful facts and numbers about the UN in general.
After the Opening Ceremony and Opening Plenary of WIMUN Geneva are over, participants are invited to join for an informal welcome reception within UN premises. The welcome reception will offer a perfect opportunity to meet and mingle with fellow participants and get to know other delegates from your committee. Drinks and finger food will be served to fill empty stomachs after a long day of travelling and exploring.
WIMUN Global Experience
On Thursday evening, after the day's session ends, all participants are invited to present their local culture at the WIMUN Global Experience. Groups and individuals are encouraged to sign up and set up a booth and show other participants what makes their home country, home region, home city, etc. special.
During the WIMUN Global Experience, you will have the unique opportunity to learn about other cultures and countries right from your peers who are native to them. You will get to taste candy and small snacks, enjoy dance performances, see traditional outfits from around the world and much more. The WIMUN Global Experience is the ultimate celebration of the conference's diversity and is open to all participants.
WIMUN Delegate Dance (High School)
Celebrate the end of the conference with your fellow delegates at a final dance party. The Delegate Dance for high school participants will be hosted at the luxurious Warwick Hotel in the heart of Geneva. An open bar for non-alcoholic drinks will be open to all participants for the entire duration of the event and a DJ will provide everyone with the fitting tunes to dance the evening away!
WIMUN Delegate Dance (University)
University students have the chance to party and reminisce about the conference with their fellow delegates in a Bar/Club called the Box which is located in the picturesque district of Carouge. A DJ will supply with you with the right music and an open bar with beer, wine, as well as non-alcoholic beverages is waiting for you to keep you hydrated as you dance and enjoy yourself.
