WFUNA had the chance to unite its youth network concluding the ESCOSOC Youth Forum in a Meet-and-Greet. This meeting took place on April 10th and consisted of representatives from UNA Canada, UNA USA, UNA Germany, UNYA Hungary, and UNYA Tanzania. The meeting served as a space for young people to learn about WFUNA’s programs, share their current projects and initiatives, and meet other young leaders working on similar youth topics.
Pablo Angulo-Troconis, WFUNA’s Peace and Security Officer, briefed the youth network on WFUNA’s many programs and initiatives; ranging from the Youth Delegate Program to the Youth Seminar Conferences held by WFUNA with other UNAs. A topic of large interest was the UNA Youth Human Rights Training that takes place in Geneva every summer.
The WFUNA Meet-and-Greet resulted in many productive conversations between members of the WFUNA Youth Network. It provided an excellent space to exchange ideas as well as exchange take-aways from the ECOSOC Youth Forum. WFUNA hopes to be able to provide more spaces like this one to its youth members in the future.
