On Monday, February 27, 2017, the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA) convened the third in a series of Civil Society Dialogues with the President of the United Nations Security Council at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, continuing the momentum from 2016, a landmark year for transparency at the United Nations.
The dialogue featured H.E. Mr. Matthew Rycroft, Permanent Representative of the UK to the United Nations and President of the UN Security Council for the month of March, and over 20 UN-focused civil society representatives.
Mr. Bonian Golmohammadi, WFUNA’s Secretary-General, delivered introductory remarks before giving the floor to Ambassador Rycroft who explained the main priorities of the UK's Presidency, and answered questions from CSO representatives’ on a wide range of topics including transparency at the UN, Nigeria, Burundi, Libya, and conflict prevention, among other issues.
