Senior Peace and Security Officer


Margaret Williams is the Senior Peace and Security Officer at the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA). She also acts as the Coordinator of the 16+ Forum, a multi-stakeholder platform, of which WFUNA is the Secretariat, designed to showcase and share best practices in SDG 16+ implementation at national and local levels. With experience in policy, advocacy and programming, Margaret has worked on issues related to inclusion and state-society relations, youth empowerment, gender equality and education. Beyond New York, she has lived and worked in Tunisia, Palestine, Cyprus and Greece. She holds a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy from The Fletcher School at Tufts University and has published on youth, peacebuilding, violent extremism, and the Middle East and North Africa.
