WFUNA is excited to announce the 2020 16+ Annual Forum will take place in San José, Costa Rica December 7-10, 2020. The 16+ Forum was launched in April 2016 as a a platform committed to SDG 16+ and to showcasing what it means to advance peaceful, just and inclusive societies in policy and practice at all levels and for a wide community of stakeholders – governments, civil society, the UN, regional and international organizations, academia, private sector and media.
The 2019 16+ Forum Annual Showcase will be held in Dili, Timor-Leste from the 11-14 November. This third Annual Showcase will again bring together a diverse group of SDG 16+ practitioners, policy-makers and thought-leaders to learn, exchange and share in SDG 16+ best practices, across stakeholders and contexts.
WFUNA Secretary-General and 16+ Forum Coordinator and Senior Policy Officer Complete Successful Preparatory Visit in Dili, Timor-Leste

Dili, Timor-Leste – From April 25 to May 3, 2019, WFUNA’s Secretary General, Mr. Bonian Golmohammadi, and 16+ Forum Coordinator and Senior Policy Officer, Ms. Margaret Williams, traveled to Dili for a preparatory visit organized by Timor-Leste's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. Over the course of their visit, Mr. Golmohammadi and Ms. Williams met with various Ministers and Ministries, civil society and government representatives to discuss the 2019 16+ Forum Annual Showcase.
From October 7 to October 10, 2018, over 180 representatives from 35 countries gathered in Freetown, Sierra Leone, for the second 16+ Forum Annual Showcase ever to be held, and the first in Africa.

The event brought to the fore key take-aways from the 16+ Forum Annual Showcases against the backdrop of HLPF 2019, the SDG Summit and our collective efforts to advance SDG 16+.

PyeongChang, Republic of Korea - The 2019 PyeongChang Global Peace Forum set forth a vision of a peaceful world. Building upon the momentum created by the inaugural forum in 2018 wherein focus centered on promoting peace and creating a sustainable future in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, WFUNA’s Secretary-General, Mr. Bonian Golmohammadi, highlighted the nexus between SDG 16 and Peace.

As the world’s leading political figures gathered in New York City, the 16+ Forum, in partnership with the Global Alliance for Reporting Progress on Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies, the Pathfinders for Peaceful, Just and Inclusive Societies, and the Permanent Mission of Sierra Leone mobilized actors from member states, civil society and private sector to Stand Up for SDG 16+.
