Global Citizenship Education Program Assistant
Rafia is based at WFUNA in New York as the Global Citizenship Education Program Assistant.
Rafia’s international upbringing across developing and developed countries in South Asia and Europe has motivated her to work in international development. Her specific interest lies in applying a rights-based approach to development projects aimed at women and children, minorities and other vulnerable groups residing in the Global South. Previously, she has coordinated student-led development projects in Bangladesh and carried out fieldwork for an NGO in India. Additionally, she has worked with UNDP India in strengthening their communications outreach to the youth. More recently she has been working closely with a Korean EdTech startup as both a teacher and a consultant. Rafia holds a Master’s degree in Global Politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (United Kingdom) and a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from Amity University (India).
